Synonyms
Interleukin-1 alpha, IL-1 alpha.
Introduction
IL-1 alpha is produced by activated macrophages, stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing il-2 release, b-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL1A proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
Description
IL 1 alpha Rat Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a
single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 179 amino acids (115-270 a.a)
and having a molecular mass of 20.2kDa.
IL 1 alpha is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at
N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source
Escherichia Coli.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
Formulation
IL 1 alpha protein solution (1mg/ml) containing Phosphate
Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) and 10% glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4
weeks.
Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier
protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
