Introduction
Interleukin-18 Binding Protein (IL18BP) serves as an inhibitor of the proinflammatory cytokine, IL18. IL18BP binds IL18, inhibits the binding of IL18 to its receptor, and consequently inhibits IL18-induced IFN-gamma production, resulting in reduced T-helper type 1 immune responses. The IL18BP protein is constitutively expressed and secreted in mononuclear cells. Elevated levels of IL18BP protein are detected in the intestinal tissues of patients with Crohn's disease.
Description
IL18BP Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single,
non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 187 amino acids (31-194 a.a) and
having a molecular mass of 20kDa.
IL18BP is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus
& purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source
Escherichia Coli.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Formulation
IL18BP protein solution (1mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl
buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M UREA and 10% glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
