It is waxy in substance, and found in the cells of the body. The blood cells circulate through the blood cells because of density lipoproteins, and it's synthesized in the liver. It stands for high-density lipoproteins and it's known to be good because it carries all of the cholesterol from other parts of the body back to the liver. The liver then removes that cholesterol from the body. In normal, healthy subjects, normal HDL levels are known to promote angiogenesis, but it's not entirely understood as to why.
