Introduction
Chlamydia is a common term for infection with any bacterium belonging to the phylum Chlamydiae. This term derives from the name of the bacterial genus Chlamydiain the family Chlamydiaceae, order Chlamydiales, class and phylum Chlamydiae. There are two genera in Chlamydiaceae: Chlamydia and Chlamydophila. The genus Chlamydia includes three species: C. trachomatis, C. muridarum, and C. suis.

The E.coli derived recombinant protein contains Chlamydia TrachomatisHSP70 protein epitopes, 549-660 amino acids.

Purification Method
Chlamydia HSP70 protein was purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.
Purity
Chlamydia HSP70 protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining) and RP-HPLC.
Formulation
50mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 8M Urea, 60mM NaCl and 50% glycerol.
Stability
Chlamydia HSP70 protein although stable at 4°C for 1 week, should be stored below -18°C.

Specificity
Immunoreactive with sera of Chlamydia Trachomatis infected individuals.
Applications
Chlamydia HSP70 protein is suitable for use in ELISA. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
