Introduction
Flagellar calcium-binding protein (Protein FcaBP) is a protein which may be involved in swift motility of Trypanosoma, having an imperative role in flagellar structure and calcium metabolism, as it exhibits 4 EF-hand type (helix-loop-helix) structural domains, of which 3 may contain calcium-binding sites. Calcium has a vital role in the motility of Trypanosoma. The subcellular localization of Protein FcaBP is in the flagella of T. cruzi.
Description
Recombinant Chagas 1F8 protein (Epitope of the flagellar calcium-binding protein FCABP of Trypanosoma cruzi) produced in E.Coli, is a polypeptide chain having a total of 234 a.a (includes his tag). The protein is fused to a 6-His tag having a total Mw of 25.8kDa and a theoretical pI of 5.39.
Source
Escherichia Coli.
Purity
Protein is >90% pure as determined by SDS PAGE.
Formulation
1F8 Chagas antigen was lyophilized from 20mM Hepes, 300mM NaCl, pH-8, and varying 284mM imidazole.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized 1F8 Chagas protein in sterile distilled pyrogen free water at 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Stability
Store lyophilized 1F8 Chagas antigen at 2-8°C.
After reconstitution, store at -20°C.
Prevent freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications
Reacts with sera from infected patients, Useful for immunoassays.
