Introduction
Il-6 is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions: it plays an essential role in the final differentiation of b-cells into ig-secreting cells, it induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth, it induces nerve cells differentiation, in hepatocytes it induces acute phase reactants.
Description
IL-6 Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a molecular weight range of 26-30kDa due to glycosylation.
The IL6 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
The IL6 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source
HEK.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation
The IL6 was lyophilized from 1mg/ml in 1xPBS.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized IL-6 in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant HSA.
Stability
Lyophilized IL-6 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution IL6 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 95% as obsereved by SDS-PAGE.
Biological Activity
The activity was determined by the dose dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells (human erythroleukemic indicator cell line) and is typically 0.2-1ng/ml.
