HBsAg is the surface antigen of the Hepatitis-B-Virus (HBV). The capsid of a virus has different surface proteins from the rest of the virus. The antigen is a protein that binds specifically on one of these surface proteins. It is commonly referred to as the Australian Antigen.
Description
HBsAg subtype adw2 Recombinant produced in Saccharomyces cerevisae. is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain. HBsAg migrates on SDS-PAGE as a 24 kDa monomer band with small amounts of dimer (48 kDa) and trimer (72 kDa) forms.
The HBsAg is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
